If your people are your "greatest asset"...Prove it

One of the biggest misconceptions in business today, I believe, is this: “Our team is our greatest asset.” If that were true, turnover wouldn’t be sky‑high. And according to Gallup, over 65% of employees wouldn’t be disengaged or actively disengaged. So, what are the organizations doing that actually prove their people matter?

·       They invest in training, mentorship, and real growth for their people, not just onboarding or “winging it.”

·       They listen to the people in the trenches who interact with customers every day. How they’re treated often becomes how customers are treated.

·       They stop piling more work onto fewer people and calling it “efficiency.”

·       They show appreciation consistently, daily, weekly, or randomly; it’s those little details that truly make the big things happen in your organization.

These are the organizations people want to work for. These are the organizations customers rave about. The equation is simple: Higher retention = lower hiring costs, stronger culture, and more stability. Higher retention = more storytellers for your brand, happier customers, and increased revenue.

If your team is truly your greatest asset… prove it. What’s one thing your organization does to show people matter? If you want to build or strengthen a culture where people stay, grow, and become storytellers for your brand, let’s talk.
